See more. Connect more. Create more value.
Every innovative medicine starts with the possibility that it can make a meaningful difference for patients. Realizing that possibility at global scale also requires commercial investment and the prospect of a sustainable return.
HaywoodMAP helps biotech and pharmaceutical leaders find strategies that allow both to happen.
Patients. Possibility. Profit.
What Makes HaywoodMAP Different?
HaywoodMAP brings broad visibility across markets, portfolios and the asset lifecycle to uncover connections that might otherwise be missed.
Innovation does not always require creating something entirely new. Sometimes exceptional value comes from connecting opportunities that appear limited on their own.
A market opportunity can change the value of an asset. A lifecycle choice can change what is possible in a market. A portfolio decision can change whether either is worth pursuing.
That connected perspective is what makes HaywoodMAP different: we help leadership teams see more of the choices that shape both patient impact and shareholder value.
From Possibility to Choice
Broad visibility can reveal possibilities, but not every possibility is worth pursuing.
HaywoodMAP helps leadership teams determine where opportunities exist across markets, when they matter across the portfolio and lifecycle, and whether they justify investment relative to other choices.
The P&L provides an important test. It connects patient opportunity and strategic possibility to the investment and sustainable return required to earn continued support from executives and shareholders.
The goal is to find the choices that allow companies to serve more patients while creating sustainable shareholder value.
Turning Possibility Into Action
-
Are we building the asset in a way that preserves its future potential?
Make development and investment choices that optimize the asset today while preserving flexibility for tomorrow. Evidence, endpoints, comparators, indications, formulations, dosing and diagnostics can all shape future value. When important choices have already been made, identify what can still be done to protect, recover or create value.
-
What needs to go right economically for this asset to succeed globally?
Identify the markets and decisions that disproportionately influence the asset’s economics and get them right. From evidence strategy and value demonstration through HTA, pricing, negotiation and access, secure the foundation needed to support sustainable global patient access and commercial value.
-
How do we reach more patients around the world while continuing to make the economics work?
Determine where, when and how to expand globally. Market prioritization, launch sequencing, pricing, China strategy, commercialization and partnership models, and alternative access pathways can extend patient reach while managing the implications for global and portfolio value.
-
How do we keep creating patient and commercial value as the landscape changes?
Launch is not the destination. New evidence, indications and formulations, changing standards of care, competitive entry and evolving payer expectations can create new opportunities or threaten existing value. Continually reassess the landscape to protect, recover and create value throughout the asset lifecycle. description
Experience Behind the Perspective
Nearly 30 years across markets, functions, portfolios and the asset lifecycle.
Matt Haywood's pharmaceutical career spans sales, managed care, policy and advocacy, brand marketing, payer strategy and global market access, with experience across both U.S. and international markets. Most recently, he served as Vice President of International Market Access and Pricing for Oncology at AbbVie, with responsibility spanning more than 40 markets.
His experience extends upstream into portfolio and asset strategy, including investment prioritization, clinical endpoint optimization, indication sequencing and accelerated launch strategies, and downstream through pricing, reimbursement, global launch and lifecycle management.
That breadth is the foundation of HaywoodMAP's connected perspective: seeing across markets and across the portfolio and asset lifecycle to uncover possibilities that might otherwise be missed.
